Alexis Salvador Perez, born on May 11, 1991, is a dedicated automotive technician and entrepreneur whose journey into the world of mechanics began later than most but with a purpose that would shape his future.
At the age of 23, with a two-year-old daughter and a baby boy on the way, Alexis made a life-changing decision. Wanting to provide a stronger future for his growing family, he asked his father—a mechanic himself—to help him step into what he called “a man’s job.” Ironically, Alexis hadn’t grown up with a passion for cars and never imagined building a career around them.
His journey began at a junkyard, where he spent five years removing parts from all types of vehicles. It was there that he developed hands-on experience, learning the ins and outs of automotive systems piece by piece. From there, he moved on to an automotive shop, dedicating another five years to expanding his skills. During this time, he worked on a wide range of projects—from basic installations to lifting trucks and performing custom builds—gradually mastering his craft.
Driven by ambition, Alexis took a leap of faith and opened his first shop with a partner. Unfortunately, the partnership did not work out, and the business closed within a year. Though it felt like his dream had fallen apart, Alexis refused to give up. Determined to succeed on his own terms, he started again—this time independently—with the unwavering support of his father and his wife.
For the past four and a half years, Alexis has successfully run his own shop, taking on everything from general mechanical work to full restorations and custom builds. His expertise spans across cars, ATVs, and motorcycles, and he has earned the confidence to work on high-end luxury vehicles such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren—cars that many hesitate to even touch.
A defining moment in his career came when he was entrusted with a 1965 Ford Mustang for a full restoration. Honored by the opportunity, Alexis poured his passion and skill into the project, making it one of his proudest accomplishments. Through the process, she became more than a client she became part of The Mechanic Plug family, sharing in the journey from initial conversations to hands-on collaboration.
Today, Alexis Salvador Perez stands as a testament to hard work, resilience, and growth. While he knows he is not yet where he ultimately wants to be, he takes pride in the man he has become and everything he has conquered so far.
